Opportunity: 

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Nuclear business unit for an ambitious and talented Engineer to join our growing team.

The role:

The Engineer provides support to the Project Manager and/or the Sub Project Manager in order to facilitate project delivery within the agreed cost and schedule baseline.

  • Production and or delivery of key project deliverables such as PMP’s, project scope documents, schedule and cost estimates, Work Specification Forms and Work Scope documents, Safety Method Statements and Work Safety Plans, Tender Packages and support to the contract management process.
  • Management and challenging of the supply chain.
  • Assisting in delivery of the projects or project work scope within the baseline.
  • Delivering tasks in a safe manner to the specified functional criteria, goals and objectives, compliant with appropriate legislation, project execution procedures, and within the approved project baseline, scope, cost, schedule and quality requirements.
  • Developing, maintaining, reporting and trending an accurate task baseline.
  • Providing accurate and timely information and reports regarding the task status, activities and performance.
  • Proposing, agreeing, implementing and reporting corrective actions to secure the task baseline.
  • Ensuring the task meets the specified project functional criteria.
  • Early identification of risks/ issues/ concerns that either have the potential or will impact the task baseline.
  • Liaison with project stakeholders including design, construction, commissioning, safety, HP&S, SR&M, IWM and any other plant teams during all project phases as requested by the PM or Sub PM.
  • Facilitating in the maintenance of effective integrated project execution plans.

 

The Person:

Desirable:

  • Proven track record in task/ project delivery experience in the Nuclear Industry
  • Knowledge of SLMS processes and procedures
  • Experience of managing Plant Modification Proposals, understanding the configuration baseline and Safety Cases.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Fundamentals
  • Experience of working with supply chain partners
  • Proven capability of building relationships and supporting formal communications/negotiations with customers, supply chain, and stakeholders.

The ISA provides Sellafield Ltd with the capability and capacity to deliver a growing programme of infrastructure projects required for an aging asset portfolio. The alliance is mainly aimed at protecting and developing the utility assets; however, it also has scope for a number of non-utility asset projects as well.

The CCF programme ensures that the teams responsible for delivering the UK’s Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD) are able to live work and train in safe, state of the art facilities.
