Construction Section Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a Construction Section Manager to support the Construction Manager in overseeing construction activities within assigned sections of a project. This role involves ensuring that projects meet safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives while adhering to regulatory and contractual requirements. The Construction Section Manager will lead construction teams, manage contractor performance, and ensure the seamless coordination of construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage construction activities within the assigned section, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to engineers, foremen, and construction workers to maintain a productive and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and consultants, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate resources and project teams to maintain efficient workflow and timely completion of construction activities.
  • Review and approve technical designs, construction plans, and material specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise to resolve construction-related challenges and maintain design integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations throughout the construction process.
  • Support the Construction Manager in fulfilling duties under CDM regulations and NEC3 contracts.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in construction project management, with a strong focus on engineering.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage construction teams in complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to analyse project performance, manage risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working with NEC3 contracts and CDM regulations.
  • Security clearance (or the ability to obtain it) may be required.
