The Opportunity
Following to internal mobility, we are looking to appoint a Director for our Mechanical Services team.
This is a key leadership role, essential to the continued success and development of the team. This role will require an experienced and inspiring leader, someone who embodies a passion for engineering excellence, possesses strong leadership capabilities, is committed to nurturing talent, and will act as a trusted advisor, providing strategic direction, technical oversight, and ensuring high-quality delivery across our projects.
As BakerHicks is currently experiencing significant growth and transformation, as the Director overseeing the Mechanical Services discipline, you will wholeheartedly embrace this journey, exhibit adaptability to change, and demonstrate flexibility in approach.
You should be comfortable with the prospect of establishing and re-establishing structures without feeling daunted by the task, and have a vested interest in successfully driving this team forward.
This team consists of engineers and technicians possessing a range of experience levels, operating across multiple BakerHicks offices.
Requirements
Applicants must be at Associate level or above, to be considered for this opportunity.
Education
- Hold a relevant degree
- Chartered (CEng) Member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE)
Technical/ Experience
- Demonstrable track record of delivering multi-disciplinary projects to a high standard in at least one sector that BakerHicks operates in.
- Considerable experience in managing large and varied teams from Apprentices and Graduates to Associate Director level.
- Extensive involvement in contributing to and/or leading bids, proposals and tender specifications
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to eloquently present complex ideas.
- Strong ability to develop enduring relationships with both internal and external stakeholders that deliver long-term benefits.
- Outstanding design and technical detailing experience.
- Essential technical experience: Expert design of Mechanical Building Services systems in the sectors that BakerHicks work in, including HVAC and Public Health.

- Extensive experience in delivering multi-disciplinary projects in the sectors that BakerHicks operates in.
- Ability to develop, deploy and implement strategic vision.
- Meaningful contribution to work-winning activities, including running bids and tenders, client relationship management and business development
