The Midlands region are looking for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team in the Midlands to help in assisting the delivery of a variety of schemes/projects.
The candidate will report and offer support to a team of Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors. You will be expected to be hands on, assist with specific schemes whilst supporting the surveying team as a whole in their daily duties, record keeping and the fundamental duties of a quantity surveyor role. You should have the ability to apply yourself efficiently and in a professional manner with an eagerness to learn from your peers. You will aid in the processes of day to day cost cotrol, cash management, subcontract and material managements and will help with record keeping, on-site measurement and general administrative duties. The position will involve working within a busy commercial department on both new build and refurbishment schemes.
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 6 GCSE's grade C or above and although not essential the preference would be for the candidate to have 2-3 A Levels at Grade C or above, or a college achievement graded merit or above. Excellent communication skills are essential to this role and the candidate must be able to adapt within an existing young and vibrant team.
