Spearheaded by managing director Julian Lebray, the Central team, based at Fort Dunlop in Birmingham, delivers commercial and educational refurbishments up to the value of £10m and aftercare to all clients. The geographic range of the projects that the team delivers extends from their southern boundary, which is north of Bedford and south of Cambridge, to their northern boundary, above Mansfield and below Chester. The team comprised of 50 staff, delivers traditional fit out alongside a turnkey design and build offering. From Coventry University to the new VOX conferencing facility at Resorts World Birmingham, the team has the expertise to deliver excellence in everything it does, no matter what the brief.

 

  • Ensure consistent, quality and timely financial reporting both to Group and to business management team providing insight to support decision making
  • Responsible for preparation and delivery of the financial elements of the budget, monthly forecasts and all associated supporting schedules
  • Implement consistent and accurate business wide reporting processes for standard group metrics such as cash forecasting and reporting, working capital reviews.
  • Ensure appropriate financial control and governance policies and processes are set and implemented within the business.
  • Key advocate for change within the business unit supporting and driving Group initiatives such as Perfect Delivery, Core Values and Customer Experience.

 

Key Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Qualified Accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Strong knowledge of financial controls and technical accounting, for example gained within a corporate environment
  • Experience of delivering management reporting to meet business needs and ensure appropriate visibility of key metrics
  • Experience in running a forecasting and budgeting / planning process in a large corporate
  • Good systems knowledge, ideally in COINS and Cognos an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong personal drive and commitment to delivery of results
  • Experience of solving problems and implementing solutions
  • An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Able to interact with people at all levels with strong ability to influence
  • Takes personal responsibility and ability to work towards agreed objectives with limited supervision
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial people.
  • Energetic, highly motivated, self-confident. Must demonstrate an enquiring mind coupled with the ability to challenge
  • Ability to lead others through change
  • Technically competent and well versed in key financial disciplines
  • Demonstrates strong, analytical and proactive thinking
  • Collaborative in approach and committed to team working
