Senior Civil Engineer
An experienced Civil Engineer is required to work on the detailed design of civils infrastructure (below ground foul and surface water drainage, external works and hardstandings, coordination of below ground utilities, surface levels etc) associated with new buildings for large projects in the defence and manufacturing, life sciences or aviation sectors. The successful candidate will have extensive experience of Microdrainage and AutoCAD. The candidate may have experience of earthworks and levels modelling software such as civils 3D or equivalent. A thorough understanding of earthworks design, drainage design, pavement design, external works and 3D underground services co-ordination is required. The candidate is required to be a good communicator, who can work as part of a successful internal team (partly across two offices), respond to technical queries for other disciplines or from the contractor site. The candidate should ideally be a good problem solver.
Main Responsibilities
Produce comprehensive civil and stuctural design packages for all aspects of civil engineering design.
Undertake all aspects of infrastructure design work on projects up to circa ~£200 million across the following sectors: Aviation, Life Sciences and Manufacturing and Power.
Contribute to the development and mentoring of junior.
Be highly proficient in AutoCAD and Microdrainage.
Skills and Experience
Carry out technical design reviews/critiques of projects in process.
Assist in the mentoring and development of more junior engineers.
Conversant with current codes, standards, industry best practice and responsibilities under CDM and health and safety regulations.
Proven ability to work within a fully intergrated, multi-discipline design team.
