Morgan Sindall is a UK construction and infrastructure business part of Morgan Sindall Group plc, the company works for private and public sector customers on projects and frameworks from £50,000 to over £1 billion. Activities range from small works and repair and maintenance, to the design and delivery of complex construction and engineering projects where it is able to provide specialist design, tunnelling, utilities, building, civil engineering and mechanical and electrical services. The company operates across the commercial, defence, education, energy, healthcare, industrial, leisure, retail, transport and water markets.

As an Industrial placement within our business, you will assist the site team with the day to day running and managing of the site. Familiarise yourself with responsibilities and procedures which are to be followed, develop understanding of what makes a project successful and liaise with other construction professionals. Some key responsibilities will include;

  • Collating and maintaining documentation and schedules
  • Keeping good standard of daily site records
  • Learning about specific construction tasks and activities
  • Effectively communicating between project and site teams
  • Monitoring of quality and safety performance on site

Our Placement Programme

We offer 12 month industrial placements to students looking for a year in industry as part of their construction management degree. The programme has been designed to give you the best possible exposure to our business, during the year you will be involved in some or all of the following areas, depending on your discipline:

  • Contract planning
  • Engineering
  • Preconstruction
  • Quantity Surveying/Commercial
  • Safety, Health & Environment
  • Site Management
  • Tender Planning

What you’ll gain

You’ll gain valuable experience by working on real projects and alongside graduates and experienced professionals. We also encourage and support our undergraduates to start gathering evidence relating to the professional institution structured development programme, relevant to your discipline. 

Upon completion of the programme, you could leave with sponsorship for your final year at university and a potential graduate offer thereafter if you achieve a 2:1 or higher

Eligibility

You should be studying towards a Construction Management CIOB accredited degree.
