Role: Carpenter (Multi Skilled Engineer)

Salary: £ 23,290 per annum plus generous benefits

Based: West Midlands; Wallsall, Wednesbury and surrounding areas

Our main areas of expertise include: building management systems, day-to-day responsive repairs, facilities management, void property refurbishments, insurance activity, programmed maintenance, and electrical and gas installations, servicing and repairs.

 

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Carpenter (Multi Skilled Engineer) to join our team based in the West Midlands (Office in Wednesbury). Reporting to the Project Supervisor, the role will require you to carry out works specified by surveyors. Properties vary from void properties, occupied houses to sheltered accommodation rooms.

The position includes a company van, fuel card, uniform and phone. All training is provided to help you do the job to the best of your ability.

 

About You

You will be a fully skilled tradesperson with a core trade background in carpentry, be proficient in secondary trades i.e. plumbing, glazing, decorating, flooring and carry out repairs to the highest standards. 

You should be a customer focused individual, experienced in working in occupied and void properties with a passion for completing a high quality repair on time and at the first visit, with experience in Social Housing.

Although not essential having the following qualifications would be advantageous:

  • Level 1 Award in Basic Construction Skills.
  • Level 1 Award in Wood Operations.
  • Level 2 (NVQ) Certificate / Diploma in Wood Occupations.
  • Level 2 Diploma in Construction Crafts (carpentry and joinery)
  • Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry.

You should have an excellent working H&S knowledge and in date training certs in: Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height and Manual Handling.

You must have your own tools & basic power kit to be considered for this role, all larger items will be issued to you.

You must hold a valid UK driving licence as a company vehicle will be provided (work use only).
