Who are we?

In Manchester, under the guidance of managing director Peter Knight, the Northern team, comprised of 60 staff, provides commercial refurbishment and fit out, offering both a traditional and design and build approach. The variety of projects that the team wins offers an exciting portfolio and the reputation of the business has gone from strength to strength. Bidding for projects up to the value of £10m, primarily in and around Manchester, Leeds and Glasgow, the team has completed work for BBC, Sky, PwC and Vodafone.

 

What will you be doing?

 

  • Develop the brief with the client - Identify and define the scope of works and qualify the budget
  • Coordinate and lead the team (Estimator, Designer, TSM and others as required). Understand information requirements to develop the brief. Schedule meetings and coordinate the client. Manage information flows make sure everyone has visibility of bid progress and the latest information
  • Develop the bid strategy and identify the win themes. Identify client value and the client cornerstone. Develop Initial programme. Pull the whole bid together ensuring our proposal matches the brief and defines our solution, features, costs and timelines.
  • Work with the Estimator to develop the cost plan, initial budgets and proposals.
  • Facilitate workshops and design meetings, report and manage progress of the bid. Manage the timeline and make sure the right people are in the right place with the right information to progress the bid
  • Understand any H&S and/or environmental (e.g. BREEAM/Ska pre-assessments) and how they may affect the bid and subsequent delivery of the project
  • Lead the planning, development and rehearsal of the pitch/presentation/interview. Agree the final look and feel for the pitch so you know what you are working towards (presentation verses picture boards etc.). Attend interview
  • Manage the transition and transfer of information from the precontracts to the contracts team. Sign off drawings, handover the cost plan
  • Manage the internal and external mobilisation - Client start meeting (C - Start) Establish ways of working. Introduce the team. Internal start meeting (I - Start) – Commercials and what we have brought and sold
  • Manage the relationship through handover. Make sure key areas of the design are understood (potentially get samples for components that are particularly important to the client
