Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity within our head office for an ambitious and talented IT Delivery Manager.

 The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated IT professionals. 

Experience in Programme Management is essential, as is experience of working with Agile Delivery Methods. Use of project management toolsets such as Microsoft Project is required. The right applicant will be competent in leading and co-ordinating multi resourced projects, and will have excellent attention to detail.

Proven experience in delivery major projects across various disciplines (application, Infrastructure and Software Development) is required.

Responsibilities:

 As an IT Delivery Manager you will:

  • Ensure all projects are logged and progressed through the agreed PMO project initiation and delivery processes
  • Build strong relationships with project teams and business stakeholders
  • Ensure full and continued engagement throughout the project life history and ensure that expectations are managed
  • To monitor and report project status and forecasts to the accepted standard and schedule and distribute to project stakeholders.
  • Keep a clear focus on project outcomes and benefits (tangible and intangible)
  • To carry out and contribute to Project Board meetings and manage the relationship with project stakeholders
  • Work with the business to develop good business cases, clear objectives, definition of benefits and how they will be obtained and resource commitment to the project. (outline business case and PID)
  • To help build business case proposals for budget approval
  • To produce and maintain project documentation and adhere to project governance as specified
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Estimate the resources needed to achieve project goals and obtain availability and allocation
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and measure the project benefits
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget and meet the project and customer expectations and capable of delivering the benefits
  • Choose and apply appropriate project methodologies / delivery methods e.g. Agile / Waterfall
  • Develop a detailed project plan with clear milestones to monitor and track progress
  • To identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Coordinate internal resources, business representatives and third parties/vendors as required
  • Work with shared service on supplier management ensuring competitive pricing and performance
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs
  • To identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project
  • Measure and drive project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Develop project test strategies, test plans, ensure tests are completed in line with test plans and ensure test results are acceptable prior to proceeding to live deployment
  • To manage delivery, implementation and transition into Operational Support through the appropriate decision-making bodies
  • To gain Project Acceptance Sign Off
  • To conduct project Lessons Learned workshops, pull together recommendations and create Closure report
  • Ensure the project delivers the anticipated outcomes and benefits as defined at project initiation / approval stages 

Already experienced as an IT Delivery Manager, you will be educated to Degree level and hold relevant qualifications such as Prince2 or APMP. You will also have a broad understanding of ITIL and Business Analysis.
