Morgan Sindall Property Services is the service division of the £2 billion Morgan Sindall Group. We work with a wide variety of public and private sector clients and specialise in the full range of facility management and responsive repair and maintenance activity. Our main areas of expertise include: building management systems, day-to-day responsive repairs, facilities management, void property refurbishments, insurance activity, programmed maintenance, and electrical and gas installations, servicing and repairs.

 

About the Role

The purpose of the role is to manage the day to day financial, cost control and reporting across the South West. The projects involve PFI’s; Planned; Voids; Insurance repairs; Gas and Reactive Works from their current programmed position up to and including completion of all client and sub contract final accounts, recovery/discharge of all retentions and completion of archive material. The position will involve regular travel to various sites within the region to liaise with key team members.

You will be responsible for the effective commercial control of all allocated projects including provision of timely and accurate documentation in accordance with the Surveying timetable, in particular CVR’s, all elemental reconciliations, applications, cash flow forecasts, aged debt etc. You will also take the lead to establish appropriate targets/rates and re-measurement/evaluation of subcontractor/labour only/direct labour outputs. You will be responsible for actively supervising and mentoring Commercial Team members under your control.

The successful candidate must be willing to be geographically mobile as regular travel & occasional overnight stays will be required. You will have responsibility for employees and commercial activities on our contracts based in South Wales, Dorset, Somerset, Oxfordshire and will be expected to travel occasionally to our London and Sheffield offices. Your base office location may be any of these locations, depending on your home location, although you will spend time in all of the regional branches on a regular basis.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in a strategic commercial role, particularly within the property services or similar related industry. Ideally, you will have experience of demonstrating an effective cash management on both planned and reactive projects.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills and deliver effective interaction with all members of the project team. You will have the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with the client, employer’s representative and supply chain.

 

You may have experience of the following: Quantity Surveying, Cost planning, Commercial management, Contract administration, Property Services, Facility Management, Construction, Building Management Systems, Procurement, Risk Management, Asset Capitalisation.
