Description

Lovell Scotland are looking to recruit a Land Manager to join the team based in Glasgow.

The Scottish business is in a growth phase with plans to enhance stability with the inclusion of private development sites into our portfolio to compliment the already well established Lovell revenue streams of contracting and partnership developments.

The Land Manager will be responsible for all land acquisition throughout Scotland, concentrating in the short term on land opportunities within the central belt.

The successful candidate will identify, appraise, negotiate and contract suitable sites ensuring they meet business requirements in terms of financial targets and deliverability timescales.

You will be required to manage the land bid and land adjudication process, while effectively highlighting areas of risk and will be required to assess, monitor and comment on the planning process and manage appeals where necessary.

You must have an extensive existing contact network and will be expected to maintain and enhance your network to ensure that opportunities are not missed.

As well as short to medium term land, the Land Manager will require to manage the promotion of contracted strategic land through the development plan process while monitoring all contractual obligations.

As the Land Manager is a newly created position within the Lovell business the successful candidate has the opportunity to shape the role and responsibilities and will be instrumental in creating a Land Strategy for Scotland in collaboration with other senior team members including the Regional Managing Director.

You should be educated to degree level in town planning or similar with an excellent knowledge of the land identification and the financial appraisal process, along with proven experience in a similar role managing complex land deals. You must have excellent IT and written, verbal and listening communication skills.

As this is a varied and deadline driven position, you must be reliable and flexible and able to act on your own initiative. You should be self-motivated and pro-active in your approach to your work. You must have demonstrable planning and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
