Description

OVERBURY are looking for a creative graphic designer to become an integral part of a growing proposal team.

About us

We are a construction management company — we build and refurbish the facilities that other people work in. We operate in a variety of sectors including financial, education, retail, media, health and leisure, undertaking projects which range in value from £10k to over £200m. Our clients include the  All England Lawn Tennis Club (Wimbledon), RBS, Kingston University, UAL, Hugo Boss, UCL, The Farm, WPP, Sony, BBC, ITV, and BUPA.

Our success is founded on a set of open, honest beliefs that focus on our clients, their goals and what constitutes a successful project for them. Our long term attitude underlines our business - 75% of projects are from repeat clients.

We have a culture of promoting from within, encouraging career development and being open to the fresh ideas and opinions of our team, however long they have been with us and whatever their position.

The role

The majority of our work is won through engaging in competitive tenders. This requires us to represent our specific strategy and organisational culture in the form of bespoke presentation documents to win contracts. These inform our prospective client of; what we will do for them, what we have done before, how we can help them, and ultimately, why they should choose us.

We do this by providing key pieces of information, telling evidence backed stories and illustrating what they can expect. This manifests itself in magazine-style printed tenders with an emphasis on the editorial design, print finishing and 3D qualities. The care and value we add through graphic design is intended to simplify communication and amplify the sense of care and value in our work.

Due to the time constraints of tender deadlines we often find creative ways to make use of digital printing methods in-house. However, we also collaborate with a number of external printers and finishers to produce more unexpected methods of printing and binding. Our document runs are small which means we can be ambitious with production values. We also collaborate with external partners to produce more complex 3D illustrations and immersive animations which dovetails with our printed proposals.

About you

We constantly strive to push ourselves and the quality of our documents and your goal will be to make a dramatic impact on the style and content of the documents we produce, and ultimately, on the business as a whole.

Accordingly, we are looking for someone creative, keen, helpful, curious, with an eye for detail, and who thrives on turning information into a narrative.  We are open and willing to explore new ideas, especially if they enhance our approach so you will also feel confident in identifying opportunities and communicating them to our immediate and wider team.

We work to strict deadlines, which if missed can cost us multi-million pound opportunities. But don’t worry, you won’t be dropped in at the deep end — you’ll be supported by our experienced and knowledgeable team. This is a permanent position and the culture and structure of our organisation will foster both the short and long-term development of your practice and career.

You should have 1-2 years of design industry experience, working in print and editorial design and demonstrate evidence in your portfolio of care, enthusiasm and imagination. We are PC based and use Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and illustrator) to create our documents. In addition we use Microsoft Office and have access to 3D software.

Overbury/Morgan Lovell operates an Equal Opportunities Policy and are committed to building an organisation which actively promotes a culture that is free from discrimination. We welcome applications from all sections of the community.
