Opportunity:
We have a fantastic opportunity within our Construction & Infrastructure business for an ambitious and talented Senior Planner to work in our Major Projects team within the HS2 Phase 2B.
The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated professionals. Working with our Infrastructure business, knowledge of large Infrastructure schemes is a must.
The role will involve providing planning management and support to both the pre-contract and contract operations for the business and coordinate with bid and construction teams to manage and control the planning and programming aspects of bid proposals and multiple projects in progress.

The Project:
Morgan Sindall are supporting the construction and logistics of HS2 Phase 2B for Aecom/Capita/Ineco JV and this role is to build capacity within the planning team to provide this support.
The ACI JV is required to submit the Hybrid bill for the scheme in early 2019 and an experienced Senior Planner is required to assist with the construction programming of the scheme.
The candidate is required to have a good construction experience in Highways and General Civils together with proficiency in using the Primavera P6 programming software.
The project provides excellent opportunity to undertake studies and work closely with three major consultants (in a JV) in developing schemes with considered construction and access inputs.
This role is within Major Projects Business Unit with interesting projects with Crossrail, HS2 and Thames Tideway together with opportunities throughout UK in tunnelling projects.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Planner you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Recent experience in tender/construction planning process
- Example of a Construction Programme in P6 or equivalent from a recent project
- Example of a fully integrated programme in P6 or equivalent
- Resource and cost histograms from the above programmes
- NEC experience and reporting process – Options A to E
- Example of any experience of working in a regulated environment i.e. nuclear/national grid/gas compressors/electricity substations
- Managing temporary works
- Time Chainage experience in linear projects
- Design/procurement schedules/deliverables – Tracking of progress
- Examples of KPI’s
- Progress monitoring and examples of updates to baseline programmes
- Examples of demonstrating Earned Value Management, including SPI and CPI
- Examples of demonstrating Milestone Tracking
- Examples of demonstrating Recovery and Acceleration Programmes
- Examples of Change Management and Tracking within a P6 programme
- Experience with Schedule Quantitative Risk Assessment (SQRA)
The right applicant will have experience in Highways and General Civils with the ability to plan construction works from first principles, preferably with experience in multi discipline major projects. The Senior Planner will also have experience using P6.
