Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Nuclear, Energy and Water business for an ambitious, driven individual who is an experienced Quantity Surveyor based at on new site in the Fareham area.

The candidate will be a commercially astute individual with good negotiation skills, and ideally have previous commercial experience having been involved in £20million plus civils project as well as knowledge of sub contract management.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of the commercial team on this Energy project you will support commercial matters for the project including

  • Procurement
  • Financial performance, including forecasting, profit / loss, cash flow, etc.
  • Contract compliance
  • Meeting / liaison with client / subcontract / supply chain as necessary

The project

IFA-2  Interconnexion France-Angleterre 2 

A proposed 204-kilometre (127 mi) long 1,000 MW HVDC cable betweenTourbe in France and Daedalus Airfield, near Southampton in the United Kingdom. At each end there is to be a HVDC converter station built to convert the transported DC current into AC for use in the respective local grids.

Morgan Sindall’s scope is to carry out the design and build civil works associated with the UK converter station build at Daedalus including but not limited to:

  • Enabling works
  • Roadwork’s & footpaths
  • Security fencing and lighting
  • Drainage
  • Earthing
  • Building Construction inc:
    • Valve Hall
    • Reactor Hall
    • DC Hall
  • Various foundations and bunds

Energy sits within our Nuclear, Energy and Water business

We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators.

Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair and refurbishment services.
