Description

Lovell Scotland are looking to recruit a Development Director to join the Senior Management Team based in Glasgow.

The Scottish business is in a growth phase with ambitious plans to expand all three main revenue streams - contracting, partnership/social housing and open market housing.

The position of Development Director is a new role within the business, created specifically to own and manage projects of all types during the pre- construction phase.

The Development Director will have full responsibility for project delivery immediately following contract legals through to site start, effectively managing the pre-construction process to ensure that all internal stakeholders have sufficient information to commercially assess and operationally deliver projects timeously, as per contract, on budget, to a high standard and safely.

The Development Director will head up a new Development Team which will comprise, technical (architectural and engineering), a viability surveyor and project planning support staff. With main responsibilities being to assess site viability, secure all statutory consents and prepare/collate all necessary production information for the commercial, operations and sales teams. This new Development function is a crucial part of the business change plan and will effectively act as the hub of the business, providing support and information to every team within the organization.

Previous residential development management experience is essential as well as strong project planning skills combined with demonstrable evidence of expertise in sourcing land/partnership opportunities, contract legals, project team assembly and town planning.
