Opportunity: 

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Construction & Infrastructure business for an ambitious and talented Site Engineer to work in our Major Projects team within the LUL Framework. 

The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated professionals. Working with our Infrastructure business, knowledge of Rail / LU experience is required. 

As a site engineer, you will be responsible for day to day surveying and setting out duties.  You will ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with specification.  You will also operate and promote a high standard of health and safety and environment compliance.

The Project: 

A joint venture between Morgan Sindall and BeMo Tunnelling has been awarded a place on London Underground’s ‘Future Stations’ Civils and Tunnelling Works framework. The eight-year framework is anticipated to be worth £350 million. 

The successful joint venture was awarded a place on all three procurement lots – Lot 1 (Civils), Lot 2 (Tunnelling) and Lot 3 (Civils and Tunnelling). 

The framework is part of London Underground’s plans to upgrade its stations – including Camden, Elephant and Castle and Paddington. Work packages will include the construction of new station entrances, ticket halls and platforms including associated tunnelling and shaft works. 

Responsibilities: 

As a Site Engineer you will:

  • Setting out of civil engineering and building works on various sites within the company’s operating area
  • Ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with specification
  • Operate and promote a high standard of health and safety and environment compliance
  • Plan and schedule the work and efficiently organise the site in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines
  • Attend regular meetings with the section engineer/sub agent/agent to update on progress of works

 

As an experienced site engineer, you will have relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng), a relevant CSCS card and ideally first aid certification.  You will also have experience of working on a construction site and will be able to evidence experience of setting out and levelling.  You will have experience working on projects valuing between £5 and £20 million.
