BIM Manager

Location: Birmingham

Talented people are the key to our success

About us:

Would you like to work for a progressive and ambitious company which is also one of the most successful within the UK construction and infrastructure industry?

Morgan Sindall provides national construction and infrastructure services to private and public sector customers across a comprehensive range of markets. We aim to create great results for our customers, partners and ourselves.

Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Highways business for an ambitious and talented BIM Manager within the Fusion HS2 Joint Venture.

The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated professionals working together on this innovative project.

The BIM Managers role is to ensure the highest possible level of BIM implementation on Morgan Sindall projects. The BIM managers role will be central to ensuring projects comply with these requirements.

The role is crucial to the success of any BIM project as data exchange is key and where design consultants and supply chain contractors are inputting information with separate software tools then the coordination of that data exchange is at the core of the success of producing an Asset Information Model.

The BIM Manager must be able to objectively audit all design discipline’s models and capable of producing model quality reports. The best fit for this role is someone with design knowledge requiring experience and understanding how models are created and how to navigate and verify BIM data.

The role could suit a Construction Professional, Design Team Leader, and Independent Designer.  This is a management position not a design position. This individual has no design responsibility.  As a result, there are a number of other disciplines could potentially undertake the role.

We are looking for people who share our passion for the project at hand whilst also being able to work within a fun and hardworking team environment.

Responsibilities:

As a BIM Manager you will:

  • Ensure that model is developed in a Common Data Environment that follows BS1192
  • Maintaining the reliability of the Project Information Model and define the exchange information protocols.
  • Coordinate the integration of information within the model
  • Define the procedures needed to control the reliability of information produced and received
  • Define BIM arrangements and tools and the 3D Coordination procedure to be implemented
  • Establish the control procedure of the project model
  • Populate BIM documents and keep them updated
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and develop the use of Project Information Model across the project

The right applicant will be educated to Degree level in a relevant discipline. Previous experience in BIM is required.
