Opportunity: 

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Highways business for an ambitious and talented Site Engineer within the Joint Venture Fusion for HS2. 

The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated professionals. 

We are looking for Site Engineers to be Responsible for day to day surveying and setting out duties.

Experience working on a construction site with site supervision experience is essential, as is a sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety and legal regulations.

We are looking for people who share our passion for the project at hand whilst also being able to work within a fun and hardworking team environment.

Responsibilities: 

As a Site Engineer you will:

  • Setting out of civil engineering and building works on various sites within the company’s operating area
  • Ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with specification
  • Operate and promote a high standard of health and safety and environment compliance
  • Plan and schedule the work and efficiently organise the site in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlines
  • Attend regular meetings with the section engineer/sub agent/agent to update on progress of works
  • Supervise and monitor the site labour force through general foreman and or supervisors, monitoring the work of any subcontractors to complete the work as per customer's satisfaction
  • Oversee quality control and safety matters on the site, and ensure that regulations are adhered to
  • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time
  • Oversee the selection and requisition of materials for use in the construction / maintenance, to check whether the materials are as specified
  • Supervise and ensure proper maintenance of materials and to advise on technology and modifications required for a simpler and cost saving mechanism

Already experienced as a Site Engineer, you will hold a relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent) and a CSCS card. Some experience of AutoCAD would be advantageous.

About the Fusion Team: 

Fusion (a joint venture of Morgan Sindall, BAM Nuttall and Ferrovial Agroman) has been awarded the Central package of HS2’s three enabling works contracts, (South, Central and North).

The contract includes the early preparatory work needed ahead of the main civil engineering work for the scheme, including archaeology, site clearance and setting up construction compounds. The contract will be worth up to £100m to Morgan Sindall Group over a period of four years.
