About us:

Would you like to work for a progressive and ambitious company which is also one of the most successful within the UK construction and infrastructure industry?

Morgan Sindall provides national construction and infrastructure services to private and public sector customers across a comprehensive range of markets. We aim to create great results for our customers, partners and ourselves.

Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Highways business for an ambitious and talented BIM Manager within the M62 framework.

The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated professionals working together on this innovative project.

The BIM Managers role is to ensure the highest possible level of BIM implementation on Morgan Sindall projects. The BIM managers role will be central to ensuring projects comply with these requirements.

The role is crucial to the success of any BIM project as data exchange is key and where design consultants and supply chain contractors are inputting information with separate software tools then the coordination of that data exchange is at the core of the success of producing an Asset Information Model.

We are looking for people who share our passion for the project at hand whilst also being able to work within a fun and hardworking team environment.

Responsibilities:

As a BIM Manager you will:

  • Candidates must have a working knowledge of BS 1192, PAS 1192-2 and other BIM standards
  • Competent to establish a Common Data Environment including processes and procedures to enable reliable information exchange between Project Team Members and other parties.
  • Establish, agree and implement the information structure and maintenance standards for the Information Model.

Already experienced in BIM, you will be educated to professional level with a relevant degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline.

About the project:

The Morgan Sindall and BAM Nuttall joint venture, bmJV, has been awarded two contracts worth a total of £322 million to deliver part of Highways England’s smart motorway programme.   The first contract, a two stage design and build contract worth £104 million, is to upgrade 10 miles of the M62 between Warrington (J10) and Manchester (J12). bmJV, supported by design partners WSP and AECOM, commenced the design phase in December 2017, with works planned to start on site from spring 2018.

In addition, the second contract, worth £218 million to bmJV, will see the M27 between junctions 4 and 11 converted to create permanent dual 4-lane all lane running along the 15-mile stretch. The design phase will commence in January 2018 with bmJV supported by design partners SWECO/Mott Macdonald and WSP. Construction will begin in spring 2018

Both contracts have been awarded under Highway’s England’s Collaborative Delivery Framework, the largest ever for the improvement of England’s motorways and A roads, representing the government’s commitment to investing in infrastructure to boost the economy. bmJV was awarded a place on the framework in 2014.
