Location: Whitehaven & Barrow In Furness

1 Full time position available in Whitehaven, Cumbria

1 Full time position available between Barrow In Furness & Whitehaven, Cumbria.

Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Infrastructure business for an Environmental Advisor to join our long established Nuclear Divison.

The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated individuals on the ISA and D58/D59 Facility.

You will provide technical assistance and support on projects across the framework with regards to environmental management.

We are looking for people who share our passion for the project at hand whilst also being able to work within a fun and hardworking team environment.

 

Responsibilities:

As environmental advisor you will be required to -

  • Provide subject matter expertise
  • Identify environmental risk and promote best practice solutions
  • Contribute to pre-contract and work-winning
  • Support the continuous improvement to environmental performance
  • Provide technical support and advice to the project teams
  • Undertake environmental monitoring, audit and investigations
  • Deliver training and mentoring

Already experienced as an environmental advisor, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject matter, an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) working towards chartered status and must have recognised internal auditing qualifications.  You will have previous experience of compliance with environmental legislation and company management systems within a civil or building engineering environment including thorough knowledge of ISO14001 Environmental Management System and its implementation.

 

 

 

Nuclear

Our work focuses on delivering non-nuclear infrastructure activities in a nuclear environment both for civil and military customers.

Infrastructure Strategic Alliance (ISA)

The ISA is an integrated team which consists of three delivery partners; Sellafield Limited, Morgan Sindall and Arup. Working in joint venture with Arup, Morgan Sindall is responsible for a £1.1 billion long term contract to provide essential infrastructure assets to the Sellafield Ltd site.

Primary Build Capability (PBC)

Morgan Sindall is working with BAE Systems on their £300 million eight-year redevelopment programme, which will transform the submarine building capabilities of the BAE site in Barrow-in-Furness.
