Opportunity:
We have a fantastic opportunity within our Highways projects business for an ambitious and talented Design Engineer within the Joint Venture Fusion for HS2.
The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated professionals.
We are looking for Design Engineers to provide specialist design services to Morgan Sindall’s operating divisions and to external customers including feasibility, design, and analysis of projects

Responsibilities:
As a Design Engineer you will:
- Produce design deliverables to agreed customer requirements and to help enhance commercial profitability
- Produce reliable and detailed design solutions, calculations, reports and drawings
- Manage modelling analysis
- Support and potentially lead on bid management assisting in tenders for a variety of tunnel and underground work projects
- Potential involvement in designing sprayed concrete lining, canopy tubes / spile canopy support, face support measures, lining footings, cross passage and niche junctions
Chartered engineer status is essential or working towards for this role, as well as holding strong academic qualifications (ideally civil engineering or equivalent)
About the Fusion Team:
Fusion (a joint venture of Morgan Sindall, BAM Nuttall and Ferrovial Agroman) has been awarded the Central package of HS2’s three enabling works contracts, (South, Central and North).
The contract includes the early preparatory work needed ahead of the main civil engineering work for the scheme, including archaeology, site clearance and setting up construction compounds. The contract will be worth up to £100m to Morgan Sindall Group over a period of four years.
