We have fantastic opportunities within our Rail business for ambitious and talented Senior Quantity Surveyors based out Kings Cross.
The successful candidates will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated Surveyors and Commercial experts working together in this exciting and growing business unit.
We are looking for Senior Quantity Surveyors who have a wealth of Rail and heavy Civils experience, Network Rail knowledge is advantageous.
Due to a high volume of expected tender opportunities requiring quantity take offs within the Rail business the team are looking to recruit Senior Quantity Surveyors. The Senior Quantity Surveyors will provide commercial expertise to aid with the delivery of the contracted work by taking the commercial lead in a geographical focused team. The provision of accurate and timely commercial reports and advice to the to the management team whilst ensuring the contract achieves the appropriate commercial targets

Responsibilities:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will:
- Ensure that all reporting is accurate and completed to agreed timescales
- Ensure the project and programme contract, cost, quality and time targets are met
- Ensure prompt and regular submission of main contract payment applications and ensure that subcontractor payments are dealt with fairly and in accordance with subcontract terms
- Supervise, mentor and encourage all subordinate staff in their personal professional development including PDP, welfare, safety competency and disciplinary matters
- Build a close relationship with delivery manager to ensure the goals for the distribution area are fully met, assisting the operations team with their customer relationship
- Maintain and coordinate all commercial reports required for the successful commercial management of the contract
Already experienced as a Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be educated to BSc in Quantity Surveying (or other commercially related discipline) and RICS / CIOB accredited. Experience in commercial management of sub-contractors, including chairing regular meetings, measurement and control cycle, certificates, accrual calculations and value allocation is required, and previous experience with COINS would be advantageous.
The Project:
Kings Cross - Kings Cross Remodelling is a key rail scheme on the Governments Railway Improvement Programme. King’s Cross station throat and approaches are to be remodelled including new track layout, new Overhead Line Electrification (OLE) and modified platforms to suit to modified track layout, and a new conventional signalling system controlled from York Regional Operating Centre (ROC). Key benefits following the works will be an increase in the reliability of Track, Signalling and Control System assets. This Project is due for completion for 2020
