Job Title: Assistant Buyer

Salary: from £19,000 - £22,000 depending on experience

Based: Sheffield

Our main areas of expertise include: building management systems, day-to-day responsive repairs, void property refurbishments, programmed maintenance, and electrical and gas installations, servicing and repairs.

 

About The Role

An Assistant Buyer is required reporting to the Procurement Manager based in Sheffield, duties will include:

  • Increase value obtained across any key area of spend, which may involve leveraging of spend of other Group companies.
  • Help deliver significant, sustainable saving and service improvements.
  • Raising of material order enquires for submission to the supply chain for tender of material packages.
  • Provide support to the Procurement function in achieving best value buying solutions generally and placing risk averse, robust packages.
  • Negotiate management and selection of strategically important main suppliers.
  • Regularly communicate with site the updates on requisition progress.
  • Provide administrative support to the Finance function including, but not limited to, ledger, credit control and other functional specific duties.
  • Working with the Procurement Representatives to ensure that the administration of purchase orders is at all times optimised.
  • Provide full purchasing support to other functions within the business (bid to completion)
  • Establish meaningful and reflective controls, processes and procedures that support the functional strategy.
  • Manage, measure and monitor supplier performance in terms of price, quality, service, safety and performance
  • Active participation in team meetings and feedback sessions, in conjunction with the Procurement Representatives. 

About You

To be successful in this role you must have previous buying experience, you will have good negotiation skills you have strong communication skills at all levels. You must have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages in particular advanced in Excel.

You will have experience with COINS accounting package, you must hold a full driving licence as travel may be required.
