Opportunity: 

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Highways business for an ambitious and talented Community Liaison Officer within the Joint Venture Fusion for HS2.

Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager, the Community Liaison Officer will provide a central point of contact to local communities whilst undertaking engagement work comprising of engagement activities, meetings, events and consultations, to establish, build and maintain relationships with local residents, businesses, community and stakeholders groups. The Community Liaison Officer will be an operation lead for specific work areas to ensure that communities are engaged in Fusion JV's Work Area Plans to ensure that project risk is mitigated from within the community.

Responsibilities: 

As a Community Liaison Officer you will:

  • Establish, build and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholder groups, therefore the CLO will be based within their designated local area for approx. 3-4 days a week
  • Respond to stakeholder complaints and enquiries, and resolve within set timescales
  • Manage day to day community engagement activities for specific work areas
  • Attend regular public events acting as a representative of Fusion JV
  • Seek ways to mitigate community harm and maximise community benefit 

As the Community Liaison Officer, you will be confident in communicating in an appropriate style to a wide audience, and be educated to degree level or demonstrable experience. You will demonstrate good ability to diplomatically and emphatically handle stakeholder complaints.

About the Fusion Team:

 

Fusion (a joint venture of Morgan Sindall, BAM Nuttall and Ferrovial Agroman) has been awarded the Central package of HS2’s three enabling works contracts, (South, Central and North).

 

The contract includes the early preparatory work needed ahead of the main civil engineering work for the scheme, including archaeology, site clearance and setting up construction compounds. The contract will be worth up to £100m to Morgan Sindall Group over a period of four years.
