Opportunity:
We have a fantastic opportunity within our Highways business for an ambitious and talented GIS Land Surveyor to sit within the HS2 Enabling Works.
The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated professionals working together on this innovative project.
We are looking for people who share our passion for the project at hand whilst also being able to work within a fun and hardworking team environment.
The Role:
As the GIS Land Surveyor you will:
- Manage spatial data to meet Fusion/HS2’s defined standards.
- Use of GIS software to manipulate spatial data and carry out analysis as instructed e.g. intersects, to generate new datasets.
- Work with Ordnance Survey mapping and other data formats commonly used in UK GIS work. Understanding of mapping projections, co-ordinate systems and data transformations.
- Edit and creation of spatial data using GIS software to generate output to meet Fusion’s requirements, with appropriate level of accuracy.
- Generate cartographic output using GIS software to deliver plans as needed by Fusion, including the use of templates, data driven pages and dynamic text.
- Data conversion to deliver mapping data in a format required by Fusion/HS2 and third parties kml, DWG, xls etc.
- Work with Excel data both with GIS and externally
The right applicant will have be an experienced user of ESRI products v10. Previous experience within a similar background is essential.
