The person:
We are looking for an Estimator to support target cost development for our local authority Highways work. You will be responsible for managing and preparing tenders from first principles and coordinating and challenging the input from the wider construction team including procurement, engineering and commercial, and supporting the bid management and quality submission requirements.

Responsibilities:
As an Estimator you will:
- Report to the Managing Estimator
- Support the bid team to achieve deadlines
- Obtain the most competitive quotes by understanding current market trends
- Identify and report on risk and opportunity and scope
- Develop tender strategy and continuously monitor
- Review and assess tender documentation ensuring all documents are received and are correct
- Review tender documents assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity and provide feedback to the bid team
About the Highways Team:
Our projects encompass motorway widening, congestion relief, safety improvement and bypass schemes. Recent work includes M62 Smart Motorways, Lincolnshire’s new A1073 bypass, the A1 Improvement scheme from Dishforth to Barton in North Yorkshire, and the M74 Completion Project through central Glasgow, Scotland’s largest infrastructure scheme. Under Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) schemes, we engage with our customers as early as possible to maximise innovation, efficiency and cost savings.
