The person:
We are looking for a General Foreman to supervise and coordinate the site personnel and subcontractors, the reporting of all relevant site activities and managing the quality of work performed.
Previous industry experience is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
As the General Foreman you will:
- Coordinate the day to day operations of the site
- Ensure adherence to relevant policies and procedures
- Control and monitor all activities on site
- Support the achievement of perfect delivery
- Ensure the daily programming of all site works is performed in accordance with the company construction program
- In conjunction with the project manager, site engineer and construction manager plan and review overall status of project(s) on an ongoing basis
- Ensure all site resource (labour, machinery, materials, sub-contractors etc) are effectively utilised and monitored in order to achieve timely completion of projects
The Project:
Marlborough Square Coalville - Morgan Sindall has been appointed to the Midlands Highway Alliance Medium Schemes Framework 3 (MSF3) which is set to account for as much as £500 million of infrastructure developments in the Midlands over the next four years.
Leicestershire County Council is the procuring authority for the Midlands Highway Alliance MSF3 acting on behalf of the Midlands Highway Alliance (MHA) - an alliance of 21 local authority members based in and around the Midlands.
The scope of the MSF3 is for the execution of highway, civil and municipal engineering works. Typical schemes may involve, but not exclusively be, highway improvements, highway maintenance, highway infrastructure works (including bridges, subways, culverts and retaining walls), public realm works (town centre enhancements), drainage improvements, canal works and other infrastructure works.
About the Highways Team:
Our projects encompass motorway widening, congestion relief, safety improvement and bypass schemes. Recent work includes M62 Smart Motorways, Lincolnshire’s new A1073 bypass, the A1 Improvement scheme from Dishforth to Barton in North Yorkshire, and the M74 Completion Project through central Glasgow, Scotland’s largest infrastructure scheme. Under Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) schemes, we engage with our customers as early as possible to maximise innovation, efficiency and cost savings.
