Opportunity:

We have a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and talented Senior Quantity Surveyor within our Rail and Electrification business unit to work on the Kings Cross Remodelling Project. 

 Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to manage the Civils supplier on the Kings Cross Remodelling project. The SQS will have Civils experience in Sub-contract management & administration independently. The right applicant will have exceptional client facing qualities, and have the ability to manage their own work. 

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor you undertake the following:

  • Ensure that all reporting is accurate and completed to agreed timescales
  • Ensure the project and programme contract, cost, quality and time targets are met
  • Ensure prompt and regular submission of main contract payment applications and ensure that subcontractor payments are dealt with fairly and in accordance with subcontract terms 

The Project:

Kings Cross - Kings Cross Remodelling is a key rail scheme on the Governments Railway Improvement Programme. King’s Cross station throat and approaches are to be remodelled including new track layout, new Overhead Line Electrification (OLE) and modified platforms to suit to modified track layout, and a new conventional signalling system controlled from York Regional Operating Centre (ROC). Key benefits following the works will be an increase in the reliability of Track, Signalling and Control System assets. This Project is due for completion for 2020

Our customers benefit from the multi-disciplined service we offer in the high speed and underground rail sectors with expertise covering electrification and civil engineering as well as building capabilities including structures, lineside infrastructure, station enhancements and new build.

Our team consists of more than 275 staff - including safety critical staff certified up to engineering supervisor competence level. We work across the UK and Scotland with offices in London, Ware, Rugby, Stoke and Glasgow.

We are a leading provider of construction and isolation services to the rail industry, offering design and build 25kv overhead line and light rail electrification systems, complemented by our own fleet of specialist rail plant.

 

Our Electrification team provides services across the UK, with a base in Ware, Hertfordshire supported by a specialist electrification training centre and plant depot at Swynnerton, Staffordshire, and Scotland depot at Larkhall, South Lanarkshire.

 

Our expertise is focused not only on effective project delivery but also on minimising railway user and environmental disruption through innovative working practices.  These include ‘live launch’ bridge construction - where bridges are installed while railways beneath remain operational and ‘offline’ construction and modularisation techniques within stations.
