Role: Environment and Sustainability Manager

We provide planned and reactive maintenance to over 200,000 domestic properties nationwide and have a significant portfolio of large-scale framework refurbishment programmes. Our main areas of expertise include: building management systems, day-to-day responsive repairs, void property refurbishments, programmed maintenance, and electrical and gas installations, servicing and repairs.
About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental and Sustainability Manager to join our business reporting to the CSR Director, the purpose of the role is to lead excellent environmental management practice and continuous improvement of project performance through operations and procurement. You will be supporting the CSR team in promoting the company Environment Strategy and to clearly articulate environmental strategy and action plans to different audiences within the business, ensuring commitment across all levels to improved environmental performance. Main duties include:
- Provide advice and best practise to clients and customers utilising the data analysed and captured through our business information systems.
- Develop environmental scheme documents which are fit-for-purpose, understood and achievable
- Ensure continuous improvement of environmental performance across our contracts.
- Lead internal environmental reviews and audits to ensure project compliance in line with legislation and business objectives
- Support project teams with client reports and client meetings where required.
- Promote current environmental legislation including relevant best practices.
- Lead internal and external environmental audit and inspection programmes and performance improvement action plans, including for suppliers and waste contractors
- Proactively track and monitor legislation
- Support the bid team through proactively tracking sector initiatives and reviewing and revising our approaches accordingly
- Attend Morgan Sindall Group meetings, representing the Property Services business.
About You
- Be experienced in implementing environmental action plans across all contracts
- Approachable and flexible
- Degree level or equivalent qualification in an Environmental discipline (preferable)
- Property Services or Construction Industry Experience (preferable)
- Project management skills
- Experienced in working with and influencing key internal and external stakeholders
- Experienced in client-facing roles
- Good Presentation skills
- Good IT skills
- Relevant CSCS Card
