About the role
As part of a successful and growing Civil & Structural department, you’ll provide direct support to the Associate Engineers whilst joining a team that’s been delivering industry leading design solutions for decades. Your organisational and communication skills will help you interact with internal and external contacts to deliver projects within time, quality and budget constraints. You’ll also work closely with the Senior Engineers, playing an integral role in the driving of quality standards and the development of the team as a whole.
Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Perform all technical and departmental duties
- Keep up to date with drainage design trends/customer awareness/design techniques
- Review specialist subcontractor’s supplier’s production drawings for technical compliance with design intent.
- Carry out technical design reviews/critiques of projects in progress.
- Represent Baker Hicks in external project technical meetings and site visits if required.
- Technically competent in all aspects of Infrastructure design and co-ordination
- Full understanding and delivery of assurance/sign off requirements.
- Up to date with adoptable standards and practices.
- Proven track record of exceptional project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Proven ability to work within a fully integrated, multidiscipline design team.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and oral
- Excellent IT skills
- HNC/ HND Civil Engineering and / or recognised Engineering Degree
- Professional membership of an appropriate body (CIHT, ICE, IHE etc.) would be beneficial
