As an Industrial year out placement student within our business, you will assist the project surveyor to carry out quantity surveying duties in conjunction with other team members and provide effective financial and contractual control on all contracts allocated. Some key responsibilities will include,

  • Undertake costing activities, under direction, utilising a sound working knowledge of the cost coding structure for the project
  • Maintain high personal safety and environmental standards in accordance with company policy
  • Monitor and ensure that full payment is received for all work claimed and certified
  • Liaise with customer representatives and other members of the team to ensure effective communications and a cohesive working environment
  • Ensure that the quality management processes are cascaded and duly acted upon.

 

Our Placement Programme

We offer 12 month industrial placements to students looking for a year in industry as part of their degree.  The programme has been designed to give you the best possible exposure to our business, during the year you will be involved in some or all of the following areas, depending on your discipline:

  • Engineering
  • Contract planning
  • Preconstruction
  • Quantity Surveying/Commercial
  • Safety, Health & Environment
  • Site Management
  • Tender Planning

 

What you’ll gain

You will be contacted by phone for an initial interview and if successful attend an Assessment Centre Day in London at the end of December 2019.  We also may ask you to complete a Predictive Index Behavioural Assessment prior to interview.
