Description

Salary: £27,000 per annum

About The Role

Working to deliver highest quality service to carry out a variety of technical services tasks. Working efficiently and safety in line with best practise to achieve an excellent customer experience. This role may operate across multiple contracts.

The position includes a company van, fuel card, uniform and PDA all training is provided to help you do the job to the best of your ability.

About You

  • Operating various ground works machines such as lawn mowers and ground maintenance equipment.
  • Managing and operating pickup/dumper trucks required for various hauling activities.
  • Undertaking regular maintenance on the equipment and tools.
  • Maintaining parking lots and undertaking minor repairs on the surface as and when required.
  • Installation of site/external signs and barriers to control traffic when performing repair work.
  • Monitor ground/surface area and identify repair work required.
  • Perform assessment on work schedules and collect all materials as per job/task required.
  • Maintain records of site before and after the work in form of photographs.
  • Manage all tools and equipment necessary for ground work.
  • Identify training for using materials on efficiently.
  • Prepared reports for any defects on equipment and materials for management.
  • Work with building surveyor to establish ground levels
  • Set out drainage/ land waste drains
  • Marking out and digging shallow trenches for foundations and drains
  • Form-working - putting up or dismantling the shuttering that holds setting concrete in place
  • Steel fixing - bending and fixing the bars used to reinforce concrete structures
  • Steel piling - fixing steel sheets together to form temporary retaining walls for excavation work
  • Concreting - layering and smoothing concrete for foundations, floors and beams
  • Road working - concreting, laying kerbs, paving and resurfacing
  • Ensuring all PPE is provided and present prior to engaging on task.
  • Ensuring you have materials and equipment provided before you undertake task.
  • Ensuring that the task is deliverable within the time allocation
  • Ensuring all works do not present a hazard or danger to others
  • Ensuring all H&S documentation (RAMS) are present prior to engaging on task
  • Ensuring asbestos survey is present prior to undertaking works
  • Ensuring all certifications for plant is present and up to date prior to use.

Also:

  • Must have full or automatic UK driver license.
  • Ability to work in all weather.
  • Workers must be punctual and reliable.
  • Previous experience as a qualified Ground worker in the construction industry preferred
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Ability to operate small hand held plant such as drills and breakers etc.
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • NVQ level 2 in construction
  • NVQ level 2 in plant operations
  • CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card
