About the role
As part of a successful and growing mechanical services department you’ll provide direct support to the Mechanical Services Director whilst joining a team that’s been delivering industry leading design solutions for decades. Your exceptional levels of service will continue to drive standards in quality and build long-term partnerships with our clients.
Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Leading the delivery of Mechanical Services scope of work across multiple projects, as part of a single or multi-disciplinary design team
- Carrying out any or all stages of Mechanical Services design from concept to completion as needed
- Working with the business development team, leading the preparation of bids including the generation of man-hours estimates
- Leading a multi-disciplinary design team where required
- Reporting on project performance (technical and financial)
- Actively contributing to the development of the department
- Assuring design quality
- Mentoring and coaching other team members
Who we’re looking for
- An individual with a comprehensive and current knowledge base of all mechanical building and infrastructure services
- Technical knowledge of mechanical building services in at least one of BakerHicks’ core sectors (aviation, defence, life sciences and manufacturing, nuclear, power, public and rail)
- Knowledge of assurance processes, codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation
- Demonstrable track record of exceptional project delivery and client satisfaction in both technical and commercial aspects
- Experienced in the delivery of major projects within a variety of business sectors
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ability to liaise and co-ordinate with clients, architects and all other members of the design team
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or the equivalent
- A member of a professional institute, such as CIBSE or IET
