About the role

As part of a successful and growing mechanical services department you’ll provide direct support to the Mechanical Services Director whilst joining a team that’s been delivering industry leading design solutions for decades. Your exceptional levels of service will continue to drive standards in quality and build long-term partnerships with our clients.

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities 

Responsibilities

  • Leading the delivery of Mechanical Services scope of work across multiple projects, as part of a single or multi-disciplinary design team
  • Carrying out any or all stages of Mechanical Services design from concept to completion as needed
  • Working with the business development team, leading the preparation of bids including the generation of man-hours estimates
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary design team where required
  • Reporting on project performance (technical and financial)
  • Actively contributing to the development of the department
  • Assuring design quality
  • Mentoring and coaching other team members

Who we’re looking for

  • An individual with a comprehensive and current knowledge base of all mechanical building and infrastructure services
  • Technical knowledge of mechanical building services in at least one of BakerHicks’ core sectors (aviation, defence, life sciences and manufacturing, nuclear, power, public and rail)
  • Knowledge of assurance processes, codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation
  • Demonstrable track record of exceptional project delivery and client satisfaction in both technical and commercial aspects
  • Experienced in the delivery of major projects within a variety of business sectors
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to liaise and co-ordinate with clients, architects and all other members of the design team
  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or the equivalent
  • A member of a professional institute, such as CIBSE or IET

Our office is conveniently located at Eurocentral, Scotland’s largest industrial park located 12 miles east of Glasgow and 34 miles west of Edinburgh.
