A bit about what you’d be doing
We’re looking for someone to develop their design skills working within a small team that undertakes design, preconstruction and also supports our live project teams. We work on a variety of projects varying in size which offers you the chance to experience some of the most prestigious projects that the fit-out market has to offer.
Work with the team to take the client brief. Develop the concept and work with the client on the space plan, design aesthetic and look and feel of the space. Understand the information gaps and work with the client to fill the information gaps to enable the design.
Sell a compelling view of the final look of the project - manage this within the budget of the project. Run design workshops with the team agree the final look and feel for the pitch so you know what you are working towards.
Build the client relationship. Spend enough time to understand their needs but manage change so the bid scope can be defined and priced.
Create strong design concepts that met the client’s brief, workplace strategy and manage aspirations.
Attend progress meetings across and design workshops. Stay on top of both architectural and services elements to ensure the final build fits together.
Is the quality of the build reflective of what we have designed? Walk the site regularly to check on the quality of the build and finish and make sure it matches the design.
Provide visibility of change to enable commercial negotiation. Highlight any impact of design changes against time, cost and quality. Ensure documentation and drawings are kept up to date and are properly managed to clearly highlight change.
Have a commercial awareness throughout process of developing the design.
