IFA-2 Interconnexion France-Angleterre 2
A proposed 204-kilometre (127 mi) long 1,000 MW HVDC cable between Tourbe in France and Daedalus Airfield, near Southampton in the United Kingdom. At each end there is to be a HVDC converter station built to convert the transported DC current into AC for use in the respective local grids.
Morgan Sindall’s scope is to carry out the design and build civil works associated with the UK converter station build at Daedalus including but not limited to:
- Enabling works
- Roadwork’s & footpaths
- Security fencing and lighting
- Drainage
- Earthing
- Building Construction inc:
- Valve Hall
- Reactor Hall
- DC Hall
- Various foundations and bunds
Description:
The project is entering the mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) installation stage with most of the civil works completed and buildings watertight.
The successful candidate will need to have a good balance of industrial type construction projects with MEP experience.
IFA2 provides an excellent opportunity to lead the project planning in the complex sequencing/interfaces of the internal finishing works/MEP and the ABB clients installations.
The candidate will need to be commercially astute to manage change and advice the project team of the optimised sequence of works to completion.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Planner you will:
- Provide planning management and support to both the pre-contract and contract operations for the business.
- Coordinate with bid and construction teams.
- Manage and control the planning and programming aspects of bid proposals and projects in progress.
Already experienced as a senior planner you will be educated to professional level with a relevant degree or equivalent in a core business discipline. You will have a thorough understanding and experience in the use of project management software and experience in programme and project management, project planning, including programme controls, project review, and cost and risk analysis.
