Responsibilities:

As a technical engineer you will:

  • Responsible for the management of the coordination and technical control on site in order to achieve required project delivery to the customers’ objectives, while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control.
  • Ensure accurate implementation of all engineering controls and compliance with the contract drawings and specification working with the sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Produce risk assessments and method statements for safe execution of the works
  • Ensure work is executed in a safe manner meeting legal guidelines set out in health safety and requirements and environmental compliance
  • Manage site activities to ensure work is completed on time and within budget

Skills and Experience required:

  • Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent)
  • Relevant CSCS card
  • CSCS 5 day safety qualification
  • Good knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to mechanical and electrical service works  requirements
  • Hands on approach to the commercial and planning aspects of the project
  • Mechanical and electrical service works and construction experience
  • Previous experience of mechanical and electrical systems with a rail biased environment (preferable but not essential)
  • Able to produce and explain accurate plans and drawings
  • Good IT skills and able to work confidently with MS Office and other system applications
  • Able to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion
  • Good project management, communication and financial management skills
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical construction methods and health and safety procedures

Infrastructure Strategic Alliance (ISA)

The ISA is an integrated team which consists of three delivery partners; Sellafield Limited, Morgan Sindall and Arup. Working in joint venture with Arup, Morgan Sindall is responsible for a £1.1 billion long term contract to provide essential infrastructure assets to the Sellafield Ltd site.
