We have a fantastic opportunity within our Infrastructure business for an ambitious and talented communications officer to join our Infrastructure Strategic Alliance (ISA).

We are looking for an individual who is committed to helping to unlock the stories we have to tell and wants to help celebrate our successes! Someone who is determined to create and deliver engaging communications for all the stakeholders on ISA is a must!

You will have experience of working within a communications and or marketing environment creating and delivering content for multiple platforms and outlets as well as building strong relationships.

The successful candidate will have experience of challenging the status quo and not just accepting the norm and ideally will have worked in multi-project environment.

Being self-motivated is a must, as you will be working remotely from the wider communications team but support and guidance from the ISA leadership team.

You will be responsible for creating, managing and delivering the communications plan for the ISA working with the management team to identify key messages and supporting them in delivering them through all media forms including the organising of events.

Central to your success in the role will be your ability to craft well structured communications with creativity and flair as well as being able to work within strict deadlines. Strong organisational and listening skills are a vital.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Sourcing, gathering, creating, editing and proofing content (across all media forms on line and offline (e.g. digital media, print, photography, film) to support the internal and external communications tasks, projects and campaigns required to support the ISA which will involve activities such as:

  • Creating the monthly ISA Cascade
  • Creating case study booklets to promote the successes of the ISA with key stakeholders
  • Organise internal events to support the delivery of the contract
  • Support with communications associated with change management programmes
  • Delivery of a new project specific intranet
  • Writing stories / articles for internal and customer magazines, press releases and social media
  • Liaising with the customers media team to seek approvals for us of materials and content to the wider
  • Working with internal support functions and third parties to deliver activitiesin the communications plan
  • Working with internal graphic designers to deliver materials
  • Writing award submissions
  • Working with the parent company organisations to ensure consistency of message throughout the materials produced

Skills and experience

  • An eager communications specialist with relevant experience
  • Good network-building skills and ability to build rapport and credibility with senior managers and stakeholders
  • Experience of working in security conscious environment is desirable
  • Good understanding of new and multimedia techniques
  • Good understanding of content management systems and design
  • Experience of overseeing film production and editing skills are desirable
  • Credibility and experience to advise senior managers effectively about communications issues
  • Articulate in written and spoken communications
  • Has a lively interest in internal communications
  • Well-organised
  • Adaptable and ready to embrace a diverse range of day-to-day tasks to manage and support regular communications as well as communications for major set-piece events.
