Description

The South Wales and South West region are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our commercial team based in Bristol to support the region with its ambitious growth plans.

The successful candidate will be joining an existing team of passionate and dedicated Commercial experts working together in this exciting and growing business unit which is experiencing significant growth through long term secured work, offering opportunities for continued development and progression for the right candidate.

The successful Senior Estimator candidate will report directly to the Regional Commercial Director, and will join a growing team of passionate and dedicated Preconstruction professionals.

We are looking for a Senior Estimator who has a wealth of knowledge in the housing and main contracting market. Experience of working on schemes between £5 and £50 million is an advantage.

We are seeking an individual who shares our passion for the project at hand whilst also being able to work within a fun and hardworking team environment. As Senior Estimator you will:

  • Participate in initial reviews of prequalification documents and tenders and contribute to work winning strategies
  • Supporting the bid management and quality submission requirements
  • Be responsible for managing and preparing multiple tenders from first principles
  • Coordinating and challenging the input from the wider construction team including the supply chain & design teams
  • Participate and contribute to tender adjudication meetings with regional and company directors
  • Ensure Lovell’s work winning processes are effectively and consistently implemented and recommend improvements where appropriate
  • Support and develop the wider pre-construction team including junior staff

 

The position will involve working within a busy Commercial department and the candidate will ideally have an understanding of viability and land acquisition processes, programming, and have demonstrable experience of negotiated contracts and competitive tendered D&B schemes. Experience of refurbishment is desirable but is not essential. Knowledge and a passion for developing and mentoring junior staff will be a requirement of this role.

The candidate will have the drive and ambition and be willing to take ownership of scheme(s), to progress opportunities towards a start on site.

Previous experience of Estimating software including ASTA, Evaluate & COINS would be advantageous.

A current driving licence, CSCS card and a work permit are essential.
