Opportunity:
We have a fantastic opportunity within our Construction business for an ambitious and talented Senior Cost Planner.
The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated pre construction professionals.
We are looking for Professional Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager/Consultants who have a wealth of knowledge in the main contracting market. We will consider candidates with less experience who are looking to develop their career further.
Experience of working on Educational, Healthcare, Leisure or Defence schemes up to £50 million is an advantage.

Responsibilities:
You will:
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Have experience in working in a Pre-Construction Team environment
- Leadership skills in managing all commercial aspects of projects including advising on the cost impacts and consequences of critical decisions through the design process.
- Proven practical skills of preparation of Order of Costs Estimates, Formal Cost Plans and Benchmarking.
- Strong working knowledge of NRM1 and NRM2
As an experienced Senior Cost Planner, you will be educated to professional level with a relevant degree or equivalent in a core business discipline You will have extensive experience in measurement, the preparation of Project Budgets, Order of Cost Estimates, maintaining and interpreting historical benchmarking information, preparation of Formal Costs Plans through each design stage. You will have the ability to manage Client’s expectations and communicate to them and Design Teams, the criticality of Design to Cost Principles.
About the Scotland Central Team:
The Scotland Central Team are currently working on projects across the Central Belt of Scotland. The current secured portfolio of work is varied and challenging and includes primary education, primary health care and long term residential care facilities together with future workload that encompasses all market sectors.
We are delighted to be Tier 1 contractors on both Hub West and Hub South West and are also currently partners on both the Edinburgh City Council and North Lanarkshire Schools and Centres 21 Frameworks which will be continue to provide excellent opportunities for our business for another three to four years. Our short to medium business plan going forward is to consolidate our business further in the Central Belt of Scotland by securing projects in Edinburgh, Ayrshire and Fife maintaining our relationship with Public Sector clients but growing our portfolio of commercial clients.
