About the role

As the demand to deliver exceptional process engineering design to our clients continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer, Process to be based in either our London or Salford Quays office. We are looking for someone with process engineering design experience, ideally in a contracting environment and with experience in designing in pharmaceutical, biotech or batch fine chemical projects. 

 Principal responsibilities and accountabilities

  • To work with the lead engineer in ensuring that process design is carried out according to programme and within budgeted man-hours
  • Carry out process design work, including:-
    • Design concept and layout development,
    • Process descriptions,
    • Preparation of material balances,
    • Preparation of process flow diagrams & piping and instrumentation diagrams,
    • Hazardous Area assessment,
    • Preparation of equipment list and process equipment data sheets/specifications,
    • Fluids list and materials selection,
    • GMP review,
    • Process hazard studies (inc. HAZOP) and design safety reviews,
    • SIL assessment
    • Detail process design calculation,
    • Pressure relief design
    • Utilitise schedules, utilities flow diagrams and line sizing,
    • Preparation of validation documentation.
