Specialising in complex infrastructure, process and built environments across the full project life cycle, our disciplines range from initial architecture to civil and structural, building services, specialist high voltage and process engineering services, programme management and CDM consultancy, using the latest innovations in Building Information Modelling (BIM) for the most efficient and cost-effective design.

Our two-year graduate scheme will start your journey to becoming a BIM Information Manager, give you the opportunity to work with industry-leading teams and equip you with the skills that you need to begin a successful career in design and engineering. You’ll be part of the team and get involved in a wide variety of projects to develop your experience from the very first day. We’ll help you to develop a good foundation of knowledge in a variety of BIM technologies and give you the opportunity to experience working in our specialist teams which includes laser scanning, asset data capture, virtual reality and augmented reality.

Principal Responsibilities

As a graduate BIM Co-ordinator/Information Manager in our BIM team you will be responsible for ensuring all projects achieve BIM delivery in compliance with both industry and internal Bakerhicks standards, project BIM documentation and most importantly, to client specifications. You’ll work with our internal multidisciplinary teams, playing a key role in encouraging collaborative working for all project team members and will be regularly carrying out project reviews to check constructability, clash testing and asset data validation.

You will gain experience (depending on your specific role) in the setup and reviewing of all BIM documentation, use of softwares such as Solibri for data checking and Navisworks for model federation, constructability reviews and clash detection. You’ll attend BIM kick off meetings and regular project BIM workshops / coordination meetings, where you will highight all issues raised and work collaboratively to agree on a timely solution. You will learn key skills relating to all project disciplines in a variety of sectors of work to make sure that you add real value to the project.
