Opportunity: 

As a Business Manager you will be collaborating with the wider Performance Management of business and projects to develop options in response to business wide issues, risks & opportunities which affect the integrity of the business Plan; identifying opportunities for the projects within the nuclear business in order to optimise the delivery of value and maximise business performance and profit enabled through accurate business performance data.

You will be taking on projects to assist the senior team to secure future workloads and improve performance of the business or emerging issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Collate and analyse accurate business performance data including trends
  • Lead nuclear business improvement programmes.
  • Work closely with the programme and commercial leads to optimise the value and maximise opportunities for business improvement.
  • Provide the Strategic view across the business of risk and opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to accelerate scope within the plan and make recommendations for fee / value optimisation opportunities in line with the strategic objectives of the business - including identifying opportunities responding to the outputs of current performance.
  • Lead and/or participate in business wide improvements (through the appropriate forum),
  • Scenario analysis and negotiations to ensure that overall business unit priorities and objectives are being addressed.
  • Gather information, collate, and generate specific reports required by the nuclear business including line of sight; Projects report; success criteria & nuclear business operating plan milestones; and business reports and presentations
  • Provide project outturns against baseline for Learning from Experience and Knowledge Management
  • Interface with projects as required, incl. schedule & financial integration, assurance, validation, and reconciliation.
  • Set standards, through liaison with business functions, to ensure compliance with existing policies and practices and meet expectations of the stakeholders – accept and promote potential challenges with the intention of striving for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Qualified to HND or Degree level – preferably in accountancy / business or Commercial Management
  • Relevant experience working within a similar or related role
  • Ability to interact and engage with cross-functional, multi-disciplinary groups to challenge and develop existing processes and working practices.
  • Experience of operating with partnering and / or alliancing arrangements
  • Understanding of project performance including critical path
  • Experienced in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Excel / access
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6 (8.2 preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Coins (Preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Power BI
  • Will suit an individual who is responsive, reactive and capable of working to deadlines.
