About the team

The Bid team includes focusses on completing tenders, establishing excellent client and industry relationships, and building a network of internal relationships.

About the role

  • Managing end-to-end tender process including document review, commercial review and ensuring sufficient resource for timely completion.
  • Devising successful strategy for tendering, including identifying win themes.
  • Writing high quality tender responses to meet client requirements.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of work to support review processes.
  • Proofing reading work to ensure high quality responses.
  • Produce support materials for client engagement, competitive dialogue, site visits, interviews and mobilisation handover for review by senior management.
  • Working closely with subject matter experts to formulate bespoke and tailored solutions.
  • Participate in conferences, exhibitions, and presentations as required.
  • Assist at events where the business is exhibiting.
  • Represent the company at client meetings, tender briefings, market testing exercises and competitive dialogue meetings.
  • Ensure consistency of style, content and message throughout tenders and other material.
  • Identify, develop and incorporate new ideas and best practice into the business development process to drive proposal innovation and improve success rates.
  • Maintain accurate and current documentation in line with company standards, including the development and maintenance of the bid information library.
  • Arrange bid launch and tender settlement meetings to agree strategy, review progress, ensure timely and successful completion of proposals, and obtain sign off from the ELT team.
  • Analyse feedback from proposals to continually improve the quality of written submissions.

Skills and knowledge

You will need:

  • Excellent communication skills - Written and verbal
  • 5 years' experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of OJEU compliant procurement procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of responsive, cyclical and planned maintenance services, and industry best practice
  • Competence with Microsoft software packages
