The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to join a pioneering team that will lead in standardising the delivery of motorway construction projects across the strategic road network.
Reporting into the Head of Products, the Digital Product Catalogue and Dataset Lead will imbed a programmatic approach to developing and populating a central depository (HE’s Digital Product Catalogue) to enable SMP Alliance projects to access standardised products, digital models and associated data information to deliver efficiencies to schemes and stakeholders. You will also lead on the future development of the Digital Product Catalogue for the SMP Alliance working in collaboration with HE.
By collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders across the SMP Alliance in both production and support services and our wider supply chain you’ll utilise your knowledge and experience and ensure the standardised digital models and data information are adding value to schemes driving efficiencies through standardisation. You will be integral in developing our DfMA approach within the SMP Alliance. You will equip the SMP Alliance to deliver its strategic goals around its three imperatives of safety, customer and delivery.
To ensure that all initiatives and work related to the Digital Product Catalogue within the SMP Alliance are aligned with the wider Highways England Major Projects, it will also be essential that you establish an excellent working relationship with Highways England’s, Innovation Reapplied and Digital by Default teams. • Ensure components, assemblies and system that are included in Digital Product Catalogue meet required standards and have supporting datasets, including asset data management requirements to enable the successful adoption on schemes.
• Create and deploy a process for populating and version controlling the Digital Product Catalogue and datasets ensuring alignment with the SMP Alliance Design Rules
• Engaging with people and teams both within and outside of the SMP Alliance, fostering relationships to maximise opportunities and support successful delivery of the DPC across the SMP Alliance.
