About the Role

Working to deliver the highest quality service to carry out a variety of building services tasks.  Working efficiently and safety in line with our Perfect Delivery ethos to achieve excellent customer experience results.  This role may operate across multiple contracts.

  • Unload materials from truck and unroll roofing material.
  • Ensure there is enough material for entire roof.
  • Lift roofing materials onto roof using pulleys or ladder.
  • Clear debris from roof.
  • Ensure tar is chopped and heated.
  • Scrape or pull off old roofing material.
  • Apply layer of tar on roof.
  • Apply gravel, shingles, or asphalt over tar layer.
  • Cover roof with roofing felt, asphalt strips, or other materials.
  • Apply tile, slate, or composition materials to roof.
  • Locate and repair cracked tiles.
  • Fill in missing tiles.
  • Clear out gutters and drains.
  • Affix metal sheets to roof boards or frameworks.
  • Locate and fix leaks.
  • Repair damage caused from storms and high winds.
  • Nail tiles to roof boards and cover with roofing cement.
  • Removing or repairing broken tiles or slates (stripping)
  • Checking roof timbers
  • Fitting felt sheets to roofs
  • Measuring and cutting materials
  • Covering roofs with slates, tiles or cladding
  • Cutting and fitting lead 'flashings' around chimney stacks and walls
  • Sealing roof joints with mortar
  • Ensure all PPE is provided and present prior to engaging on task.
  • Ensure you have materials and equipment provided before you undertake task.
  • Ensure that the task is deliverable within the time allocation
  • Ensure all works do not present a hazard or danger to others
  • Ensure all H&S documentation (RAMS) are present prior to engaging on task
  • Ensure asbestos survey is present prior to undertaking works
  • Produce concise and accurate data records through PDA / mobile communication systems and reporting, including feedback on vulnerabilities within the community, the use of labour and materials and if tasks are deliverable in the time allocation.

About You

  • Must have a full UK driver license for at least 12 months
  • Ability to work in all weather
  • Workers must be punctual and reliable
  • Previous experience as a qualified Roofer is preferred
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Diploma level 2 in Roof slating & Tiling
  • City and Guilds in Roofing/Tiling
  • NVQ Level 2 in Roofing
  • CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card
