We have a fantastic opportunity within our Construction business for an ambitious and talented Business System Controller.

The successful candidate will be joining the existing team of passionate and dedicated professionals.

We are looking for people who have a wealth of knowledge in the main contracting market.

Experience of working on Educational, Healthcare, Leisure or Defence schemes between £5 and £20 million is an advantage.

Responsibilities:

As a Business System Controller you will:

  • Routine document management duties completed to a high standard (including document release and publishing, technical query handling, transmittals, filing, copying and local library management)
  • Responsible for the set up and management of document distribution via Viewpoint for Projects to the appropriate staff, subcontractors and suppliers as applicable (Workflows, Matrix Transmittals, RFI’s, NEC forms)
  • To ensure document control activities such as photocopying, scanning, QA checking, and other duties are completed promptly
  • To manage and maintain all uploading, downloading and final archive review of project data into standard registers on multiple business systems Maintain accurate registers and prepare ad-hoc reports Conduct regular quality checks and audits of data stored within the business systems, identifying and correcting any anomalies as they appear
  • Handling incoming and outgoing calls in a proactive and friendly manner
  • Analysing complex data and demonstrating good attention to detail Providing effective software, hardware and technical IT support relevant to your role
  • Provide practical help and first line training support to internal and external customers on relevant business systems
  • Ensure team compliance with project business systems protocols and procedures
  • Act as focal point for all team business systems matters
  • Effectively communicate business systems problem areas to the project team where necessary, developing a good working relationship at all times
  • Maintain and organise project library and archives on all relevant systems
  • Continuous improvement of our process / procedures and customer support
  • Adhere to the correct processes and standards to ensure that the Asset Information is collated, updated and maintained in the most efficient manner across all systems.
  • Endorse the corporate content management system ensuring business system continuity is met Ad-hoc duties relevant to your role and the requirement of the projects

About the Scotland Team:

The Scotland Regional business mainly operates from our central office at Eurocentral near Mothwerwell, with the majority of our projects across the central belt of Scotland, however we do also operate an office in Inverness which services a number of projects within the Highland region. The SHE function supports all Morgan Sindall Construction projects across Scotland. The current secured portfolio of work is varied and challenging and includes primary education, primary health care and long-term residential care facilities together with future workload that encompasses all market sectors.

We are delighted to be Tier 1 contractors on both Hub West and Hub South West and are also currently partners on both the Edinburgh City Council and North Lanarkshire Schools and Centres 21 Frameworks which will be continuing to provide excellent opportunities for our business for another three to four years.  Our short to medium business plan going forward is to consolidate our business further in the Scotland by securing projects in Edinburgh, Ayrshire and Fife maintaining our relationship with Public Sector clients but growing our portfolio of commercial clients.  We are looking for talent and ambitious people who share our passion about delivering high quality and iconic buildings while delighting our customers and growing their careers in the process.
