Opportunity: 

We have a fantastic opportunity within our Nuclear business unit for an ambitious and talented Contract Manager to join our growing team.

The role:

As Contracts manager you will be responsible for the management of the Sellafield Concrete Batching Plant, the batching plant is a critical asset which supports all projects on site including PPPs major projects. Working with the Batching Plant Provider you  will have responsibility for the for the surety and quality of the delivery of the concrete supply on site liaising  with key stakeholders and  users to ensure the site demands and forecasts are being maintained. The Concrete Batching Plant on site will be capable of producing up to 5000 cubic metres of concrete across a wide range of projects and demanders operating on the site.

The key role responsibilities will include:-

  • Contract administration – Ensuring all contractual obligations are being delivered and resolving any issues.
  • Stakeholder Management – Interfacing with a wide range of key stakeholders across the site.
  • Forecasting and Demand management – Maintaining a pipeline forecast of concrete demands and managing exceptions/priorities
  • Performance Management – Ensuring KPIs are proactively monitored and exceeding targets.
  • Safety / Quality / Environmental– Driving and implementing a strong culture of Safety and quality and promoting and supporting Environmental and sustainability initiatives
  • Innovation – Drive initiatives to improve the way concrete is provided on site.
  • Reporting – Chairing monthly meetings and issuing monthly/weekly reports.

The Person

The ideal candidate would have a background in concrete production/materials management coupled with a strong operational and commercial acumen. We are looking for a team player with good communications skills and the ability to innovate and implement creative solutions in a structured and highly process driven environment. You will have a keen eye for detail and strive for the highest standards.
