ABOUT THE ROLE

Lovell South Wales & South West Region are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Training & Skills Advisor to join our South Wales and South West region. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team you will be instrumental in helping deliver the regional training programme as well as our social value commitments.

Based at either our Cardiff or Bristol office (to suit the commute) the candidate would be expected to collaborate with our site teams in both regional offices and on site where appropriate.

The candidate will be responsible for implementing and co-ordinating regional training and development programme, facilitating central training policy and strategy within the region, co-ordinating and actively delivering on the Social Value Targets (TR&T / ESP) in line with the regional commitments.  Duties will include:

  • Identifying and analysing training needs within region.
  • Assisting with the planning of training provision with the region and company.
  • Delivering Social Value commitments for each individual project and overall regional objectives.
  • Training and assessing trainees and maintaining their development.
  • Assisting with the design and delivery of training events, courses, packages.
  • Maintaining a sound understanding of current development and thinking regarding training and learning, and of the key stages of training.
  • Leading and organising regional induction training, rolling out staff behavioural/ culture programmes.
  • Representing the business at careers fairs and with clients; monthly meetings and interviews.
  • Ensuring all apprentices, trainees and graduates are registered for the appropriate qualifications with training provider/college and monitor their progress on this qualification throughout and provide support where required.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

The candidate should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Experience of delivering Targeted Recruitment & Training (TR&T) and Employment Skills Plans (ESP)
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship schemes, grant reclaim and funding models
  • Knowledge and understanding of TR&T / ESP frameworks and agencies
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Good at developing relationships
  • Strong communication, influencing and presenting skills
  • Budget management and reporting experience is essential
  • Broad understanding of training/education bodies.
